The National Space Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Kazakh: Қазақстан Республикасы Ұлттық ғарыш агенттiгi), also known as KazCosmos, or KazKosmos, is Kazakhstan's national space agency, and was established on March 27, 2007.

KazCosmos was lunched the KazSat 1 (communications satellite) on June 18, 2006 from from Baikonur Cosmodrome which This lunch marking the beginning of Kazakhstan's independent space program. The KazSat 1 was declared lost in 2008. KazSat 2 was built by Krunichev and Thales Alenia Space Italy and was lunched on July 16, 2011. On June, 2011; KazCosmos was signed a contract for KazSat 3 as a telecommunications satellite with ISS-Reshetnev and Thales Alenia Space Italy.

Space Research Institute (SRI) of Russia was established on 1991 and has a close cooperation with KazCosmos. The main reason of this close cooperation is because of Russia is heavily using Baikonur cosmodrome which is located in Kazakhstan for launches.
